As an avid musician from an early age, Jay grew up with a guitar in his hands and lyrics on his mind. Constantly writing songs down in sketchbooks and in his head, he soon found himself playing full songs for his family and friends. Every note and chord from the heart, Jay eventually recorded himself on a small 4-track and made copies of the tapes to hand out to close friends, with great reception. Jay attended Audio Engineering School at Hot Sole Music in Port Coquitlam, BC with renowned Engineer Kevin Williams as a teacher, which pushed him to try his hand at interning with world-class engineer and producer Garth Richardson at The Farm Studios in Vancouver. This helped him to realize that his true calling and place in life was only on one side of the studio glass.Performing in small clubs and venues throughout the Fraser Valley and Vancouver area, Jay knows what it takes to be an entertainer. Playing the crowd with every word, and telling stories of love and loss through music, attendees of performances know that all the songs represent a personal place and experience for Jay.
